CIS Framework

Communities in Schools

Being Present Matters

CIS is a nationally recognized, evidence-based framework dedicated to supporting students, particularly those facing significant challenges, by surrounding them with a community-wide support network.

View the new AFMC CIS site.

How does STRIVE use the CIS framework?

Along with the CIS movement, AFMC will develop comprehensive training programs for school staff and parents on identifying early warning signs of violence, de-escalation techniques, and trauma-informed practices.

Who else is involved?

AFMC will also partner with community-based organizations to develop a support network for parents and families in Ashley, Drew, and Prairie counties.

“We show up for students by connecting them to the critical support and resources that they need to be successful in the classroom and beyond. Caring adults can make a huge difference in a student's life.”
